Professional Counselor Associate, Lead Addictions Counselor

ABOUT

Amber (she/her) is a seasoned trauma therapist. Her presence is down to earth, non-judgmental and she brings her genuine self into the therapy room while remaining grounded in her professional training and role.

She enjoys working with people who have gone through severe traumatic events that may be unresolved from childhood, still playing out in current relationships. Some of the themes she works with include narcissistic abuse, bullying, sexual, spiritual or domestic abuse, breakup or divorce, teenage trauma therapy, suicidality, military PTSD, medical trauma, sexist or racial trauma, political divisions, family cutoff.

Amber’s style is to sit patiently, getting to know someone holistically, reflecting back and taking time to build a trusting relationship. Amber goes with the flow of her client’s verbal processing, while also having extensive training in clinical interventions that can be set to achieve therapeutic goals.

Amber can ground herself in the clinical space, hearing and welcoming all parts of an individual, whether they are deeply triggered or operate out of the extensive trauma in their history. Amber holds all parts of a person and maintain connection to their Higher Self, and who someone is despite their symptoms.

Amber has done her own personal psychological reprocessing and self-resourcing. She has 3 children, and thus, has embodied gifts of intentional decision making, deep presence and undivided attention over 21 years of being a mother.

Amber says, “At the end of the day, it is their therapy time, and we will find what works. It is very valuable when we find the intervention or framework that is effective for their unique system, and when they are choosing to move forward with their own process equipped with tools.”
