ABOUT
Stephanie (she/her/ella) is a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA-R) and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). Specializing in the treatment of those who find themselves struggling with symptoms related to anxiety, chronic shame, self-criticism and overwhelming negative thoughts, substance abuse and trauma, Stephanie guides her clients in an embodied approach to becoming “unstuck” from old patterns of relating to themselves, others, and the world that often hinder connection and perpetuate emotional distress.
Her commitment to culturally sensitive care and identity, fosters a supportive environment where all aspects of the human experience are not only acknowledged but embraced in a non-pathologizing, neurodiverse affirming therapeutic alliance, offering clients an opportunity for growth, positive change and renewed hope through engaging in self-discovery, problem identification, and self-determination. She is a fierce advocate for the BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ communities.
As a somatic practitioner, Stephanie meets her clients where they are, blending Mindfulness and the client's own internal wisdom, connecting the mind, body and senses. These shifts support self-regulation lost to physical and emotional trauma and allows individuals to rediscover and develop a greater sense of self and wholeness through integration of somatic CBT interventions, Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Stephanie’s work pairs nicely with conjoint therapy or as a stand alone experience. Stephanie has over two decades of dedicated mindfulness practice in the Art of Mindful Living tradition. She has taught meditation and mindfulness and has been a featured facilitator and speaker at conferences and retreats nationally and internationally since 2013.
As a part of her own healing journey, Stephanie became a student of yoga in 2002. Several years later she embarked on a path that led her to become a yoga therapist to support those suffering from chronic pain and emotional deregulation. Over the years Stephanie has committed herself to being a lifelong learner with over 1,000 hours of formal training and daily practice.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Stephanie relocated to Central Oregon in 2022 with her wife and children. When time allows, she explores her new surroundings with family, friends and her precious pups, Bug and Goose.
