Student Intern at Northwestern University
ABOUT
Annie is passionate about bringing real healing to adult clients from diverse backgrounds. Her natural curiosity allows her to embody a non judgemental stance with her clients, practicing acceptance and finding joy in learning about cultural differences.
Annie follows the client’s lead and is an empathic listener, yet does not refrain from sharing her insights and challenging her clients to take positive action. Annie views herself as her clients’ partner, collaborating to empower, improve wellness, and live wholeheartedly.
Using person-centered, trauma-informed talk therapy and EMDR, Annie supports clients through processing trauma with loving kindness and unconditional acceptance. She has a vested interest in helping others understand how their childhood wounds impact present experiences and how dynamics of the past influence adult relationships. Holding each client in respect, warmth, and hope, Annie believes in her clients' ability to release trauma from the body, mind, and spirit.
Annie incorporates aspects of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Applied Behavior Analysis, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy into her work when appropriate. As she continues her education, she hopes to bring adolescents and couples into her practice.
When Annie is not in her office at Mirror Pond, she serves as a Secondary School and College Consultant, a professional swim coach, and she has years of experience as a Certified Behavior Specialist. She enjoys paddle boarding with her dog, Cookie, riding her bike, and adventuring around the PNW.
